Our Restaurant

Craigard’s Award-winning Restaurant specialises in local seafood, shellfish, meat, cheese and game. The style of cooking and menu design is eclectic and ever-changing (although the perennial favourites remain!) with a final touch of magic in the painstaking preparation and imaginative presentation. Chef Thompson delights in the fabulous fresh produce available locally, drawing on many influences. He is constantly on the lookout for new taste combinations to try.

This close contact with local suppliers means a steady stream of high quality locally landed fresh fish and shellfish; Ifferdale Lamb and Beef reared at Saddell, and Pork from Killocraw Farm, both just a few miles away; Kintyre game, produce and fruit; as well as distinctive smoked produce from the Kintyre Smokehouse. We serve an extensive and varied à la carte menu, along with daily specials. And the desserts are delicious! Dinner is served daily 6.30 – 9pm.

Local Seafood and Shellfish

But we don’t forget those who are looking for something sustaining and quick, and there are several welcoming old favourites on our Menu, such as the famous Steak Pie, Lasagne, Seafood Pie and Chicken Pot Pie; and not forgetting the renowned half pounder Burger or Chicken Burger with various toppings!

For vegetarian mains we have Chef’s Vege Lasagne, Chilli non Carne or Mushroom Stroganoff and much more. Vegans also have a range of options. As everything is prepared to order, most dishes can be Gluten Free and we do our best to cater for all dietary requirements.

Breakfast

A hearty breakfast is also of major importance to many people, and Craigard aims to satisfy all dietary requirements – from fresh fruit salad, grapefruit and yogurt, through porridge and a range of cereals, to the Full Monty! which includes acclaimed Stornoway Black Pudding and MacSween’s Haggis, as well as the ubiquitous Bacon, Sausage, Mushrooms, Tomato and Hash Brown or Potato Scone. Free range eggs and tasty Smoked Haddock, Kippers or Smoked Salmon for Eggs Benedict, from Archie’s ‘Kintyre Smokehouse’ nearby, will ensure your day begins well. A full range of Jams, Marmalade, Honey and Preserves also adds that sweet touch.

Once things get back to normal again, for that special occasion, you may like to organise an individually crafted menu to suit your own taste or pocket. Chef is very flexible and always delighted to prepare menus to your own specification; or please contact us for a range of dishes you can choose to create your own menu,

We have an extensive range of Worldwide wines, spirits (especially Gin!), liqueurs and sherries, local and International beers and Ales, and particularly Malt Whisky, from Campbeltown, the Isles and beyond.
