Travel Information – As the ‘Rest and Be Thankful’ part of A83 is currently closed due to a landslide, here is some info on alternatives for you:   Usually the Old Military Road, which runs alongside the ‘Rest’ road will be used – unless there is very heavy rain, storm or further landslide. In that instance there is a detour that runs up past Crianlarich to Dalmally and back down to Inveraray. Alternatively, if you are travelling by day you could use the ferry route by continuing on M8 to Greenock, then Gourock-Dunoon on Western Ferries, turn right towards Kilmun on A815, turn left after Sandbank towards Colintraive on B836 continue until you reach a T junction, turn right towards Glendaruel, turn first left on A8003 towards Tighnabruaich and Portavadie for ferry to Tarbert, Loch Fyne (just North of Campbeltown). No ticket required for either of these ferries – just arrive and queue. Gourock ferry about three times an hour. Portavadie-Tartbert ferry once per hour, at changed departure time of 30 mins past the hour – latest sailing 1830. Return departure from Tarbert is now on the hour. Once in Tarbert, turn right from the ferry and join the A83 by turning left at the T junction at the end of the village. Continue down this road until you reach Campbeltown. For Craigard House Hotel, take first left onto B842 towards Carradale, follow this for one mile. On reaching a fork in the road, where left fork goes to uphill to Carradale, take the right fork to sea level (Campbeltown Loch), into a No Through Road and 20 MPH zone. Proceed for 500m until you see a White sign on left.

Should you need to contact us you can do so by phone, email or by direct mail on Facebook or Twitter.
